BETHESDA, MD (November 15, 2013). – Association TRENDS announced that it will honor seven individuals as leading association lobbyists at the 2014 Salute to Association Excellence.  This is the first time the “Leading Association Lobbyist” category will be part of the traditional awards lineup, which includes the “Association Executive of the Year, ” “Young & Aspiring Association Professionals,” the “Association Partner of the Year,” and the “All Media Contest Winners.” 

“Associations play such a vital role in advocating for their members, it only makes sense that we honor these individuals” said TRENDS publisher Joel Poznansky.  
 
Association TRENDS selected the honorees through an open nomination process that lasted several weeks.   Nominees were limited to on-staff lobbyists of associations eligible to lobby, and lobbyists who are hired to represent an association.

The seven honorees are: Jack Cory, Founding Partner, Public Affairs Consultants; Scott DeFife, Policy and Government Affairs EVP, National Restaurant Association; David French, Government Relations SVP, National Retail Federation; Jay Perron, Government Relations and Public Policy VP, International Franchise Association; Stefanie Reeves, MA, CAE, Senior Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer, American Psychological Association; Elena Tompkins, Principal, Tompkins Strategies; and Brian L. Wolff, SVP, Edison Electric Institute
