Thompson Information Services Announces New Private Equity Regulatory Guide in Partnership with Association for Corporate Growth

May 2, 2016 (New Orleans, LA) — Thompson Information Services, the leading publisher of compliance information, announced today at the Association for Corporate Growth’s (ACG) 2016 InterGrowth conference, the launch of a brand-new subscription, anchored by the Guide to Private Equity Regulatory Compliance, to its financial product line.

Published in partnership with ACG, the information-packed Guide is designed specifically to address the many compliance and regulatory challenges faced by private equity compliance officers, financial officers and in-house legal counsel as well as legal and accounting advisers who work with private equity firms.

Due to recent changes stemming from the Dodd-Frank Act, private equity firms have to meet significant reporting and disclosure requirements in addition to adjusting how they raise capital and interact with investors. Fund managers and compliance officers are responsible for understanding and complying with these many rules, and the penalties for violations can be significant. Through timely newsletters and regular updates to the Guide as regulations change, the new subscription keeps private equity firms, and their advisers, current on any new developments of which they must be aware.

“With regulators more focused on private equity than ever before, a robust compliance program is essential. That’s why we’re excited to be partnering with Thompson to bring this resource not only to ACG members who count on us to provide leading-edge market intelligence but also to private equity firms at large,” said Association for Corporate Growth president and CEO Gary LaBranche.

“Private equity firms are faced with daunting new regulations and are scrutinized today more than ever before. But, we’ve laid out the roadmap to help private equity firms navigate these rules and avoid inadvertent violations,” noted Scott Gluck, Guide to Private Equity Regulatory Compliance author and attorney at Duane Morris LLP.

“Scott Gluck and the other industry experts who contributed to this effort have done a fantastic job of covering the ‘hot button’ issues with which private equity firms must now contend, including fees and expenses, cybersecurity and portfolio company valuations,” shared Joel Poznansky, president and CEO of Thompson’s parent company, Columbia Books. “We are pleased to join with ACG in bringing it to market.”

The Guide to Private Equity Regulatory Compliance, in print or online, is currently available to pre-order; shipping and online access will begin June 1, 2016. More information and a table of contents can be found at www.thompson.com/equity.
