Bethesda, Md. – Jim Thomasell, chief financial officer for National PTA, has been named the 2017 Philanthropic CFO of the Year. He will be honored at the 2017 Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards Luncheon, Oct. 24 at The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.

As a financial executive, Thomasell is skilled at process redesign, leading cross-functional teams and partnering finance with business operations. He also has an exceptional record streamlining internal controls, managing IT and HR functions, and implementing technology solutions to develop new revenue streams that improve organizational profitability and help ensure operational excellence.

Prior to joining National PTA, Thomasell held positions as executive director of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, vice president and chief accounting officer for Volunteers of America, and senior manager with Deloitte. Thomasell resides in Bethesda, Md. with his wife and two sons.
